Summary of India[]
India is one of the world's poorest countries although its gross national product (GNP) (measured in purchasing power parity terms) is the fifth largest. Vast sections of the populace remain impoverished even after substantial progress towards reducing malnutrition and mortality rates. Vajpayee's government has set out its plan to deal with the country's endemic social and economic ills in its "Agenda for a Proud, Prosperous India." The main thrust of this program lies in speeding up economic reforms. Vajpayee's economic initiatives include privatization, financial reforms, encouraging foreign investment, and liberalizing trade restrictions. Not only that, India's healthcare and education needs serious reform. Most citizens have no access to healthcare - where there are only 50 doctors to ever 100,000 Indians. They also don't have access to good upper-level education programs. Henceforth, most Indian students leave India for their education.
There is a lot of nationalism in India, however, if the country is not reformed in a lot of ways, the plan for a "proud, prosperous India" will be overshadowed by a new plan for a "safe, healthy, and employed India".
Advances in India's Healthcare[]
India has been working towards improving their health care in recent months. India made strives in May of 2016 to improve their healthcare system by petitioning the world for help. A lot of countries made a lot of helpful suggestions.
There have also been private efforts made. Namely from the company "Feed the Can" which was founded in September of 2016 which hopes to improve Indians lives and culture by adding incentives to normal Indians in order to get them to clean up their streets and country.
